I have long (but not layered) hair. i'd like like some funky/ high fashion texture. i have nbo intentiosn of shortening my hair but still... so could you recommend any products to help me get a funky style?

also, what root booster would you suggest for someone with long hair?

withj curls use a curlg enhancing mousse such as Vo5 and put that on wet hair dry with diffuser and then curl using curling tongs nd tehn sprqay with firm hold spary i use superdrugs own and never had a problem! for extra hold spray the ahir with ahir spray with before u wrap itaround teh tong and tehn spray once all sections are completel and scrunch curls with the hair spray.

as for volume use a mouse againa dn blow dry hair upside down

funking up ur hair is hard with out layers there ar many uwyas use wax i dont like it makes hair tlook greasy but very good!!! once u styled ur hair in one hand have hair spray the other a hair dryer and spray and and the blast wiht teh dryer to give movemeny and a messy funky look! thats what i do on a ngiht out that way i go out and haitr i messy funky and it only gets better through the night ans it getsnmessier lmao1

also there are many products for mesisng hair and depends ong hairs weight length and wether its dry/fine/curly cna depends alot on the product! but the above to work well all the time!

The only thing I know is how to get loose curls. The method I've always heard works wonders is use 2 parts water to one part sea salt (its kind of like ocean water) and spritz all over hair after shower. It makes your hair look soft and beachy (not sure if you like that look)

One of the best solutions is to have layers put into your hair.

Layers will allow you to get lift at the roots, stop the weight of your hair pulling the curl out and allow you to put your hair up and leave bits out.

Choppy layers will workt eh best, you won't loose any of the length but it will give it texture, bounce and life.

I doesn't matter what products you use to just your hair root lift or curls if your hair is all on length because of the weight of it will pull it out however stong the product is

The best product would be a sea salt spray, John Frieda and GHD do this.

You spray it on when your hair is wet and allow to dry naturally, is creates beach hair - loose, chunky waves!

This spray is best for long hair (think Jessica Simpson in Dukes of Hazzard). It's great because it's so minimal effort!

I have very fine thin long hair and now that its been also coloured its even finer. Are there any products out there to make it look thicker? Like I have more hair? Without it being sticky and full of styling product? I still want it to look natural and soft.

Coconut oil is used in India and the ladies wear their hair in long thick glossy braids....the thickest glosiest hair I have seen. I used coconut oil also and before I cut my hair people would always comment on how beautiful it was. Aloe Vera gel is good and so is Henna, (it actually makes each strand thick and soft).. I started taking DIATOMACEOUS earth because it kills parasites, (I travel alot, )

but the side effect of Diatomaceous earth is that it makes your nails and hair grow fast and feel soft and strong and thick!

Why? Because it is mostly made of SILICA a mineral that helps hair and nails and teeth. In fact my nails are growing so fast I have to clip them thrice as often! I also lost a lot of hair in India from getting sick there, but now its growing like a weed! and soft too!

Ahh the frizz ewwww..i dealt with the frizz a little bit..

Use John Freida's Anti-Frizz line..it's HUGE and you can find a lot of products including Shine Serum, Shampoo, Conditioner, etc.

Try flat-ironing your hair occasionally, but not too much because it would be very damaging. If you don't flat-iron it, I wouldn't leave your hair down unless you put a lot of serum on it to de-frizz it..try putting it up in a ponytail with a little bow..it's so cute!

Wet your hair, apply a little bit of curling mousse and scrunch while blowdrying with a diffuser attachment. This will look so good and won't be a super-drastic change. And to get it out of your face, pull the front sections back and make a "poof" securing it with bobby pins. Good luck!

-dont cut it if you love curling your long hair and putting it up easily

Yes! You should absolutely go for it. I used to have long, extremely curly hair and over the summer I cute it into a pixie cut like Michelle Williams. It's extremely liberating and I guarentee you will love the change.

i think the third or the fifth photo will suit you fine. though with the shape face you have along with your large betty davis eyes you are one of the lucky ones who could get away with the more harsher less feathered cuts. i say go for it. you have clear skin and a nice jaw line and nice round eyes most short cuts will complement you but shop around do your homework and find out the best hairdresser in the area it is really important that you get a good hairdresser for a restyle.

Now everyone knows scrunching your hair leaves it flakey and stiff because of the jell or mouse or even worse it falls out after only half a day. However there is a product out there ladies you can use to leave your hair with the scrunch or curly look but not with that unwanted flakey, hard hair. It is called Softee(proteen gel). You can get it at Family Dollar or Wal-mart. Its just a couple of bucks for a large amount. While your hair is wet apply a fair amount of Softee to your hair from root to ends. Brush it trough with your fingers. The from end to root scrunch you hair over and over and over. Since you have naturally curly hair just allow your hair to dry natural. But for fun if you want you can blow dry your hair upside down while scrunching it at the same time. You end result will be beautiful wavy, curly, scruchy hair that is soft not hard and not freezy. Try it out sometime I think you will like it. And good Luck.

Ive got really annoying hair (but only because i can fnd a style to suit me and one i like)...I remember when i was younger having my hair cut very short and it looked awful, from then, I grew my hair until i was fed up and had it cut very short (similar to my avatar length) - It stayed short for about 3 years and i've now let it grow again - Thinking that I might actually look nice with long hair (plus my husband prefers it).

I had it cut into a bob and the length stops just below my hairline (neck) so still short but i hate it - i makes me look fat in my opinion (maybe this is telling me its not framing my face properly).

Im just really fustrated as im not aginst trying new things but considering how long hair takes to grow (even when you are pregnant lol) i would really appreciate any tips, past experiences or links that might help me decide what is right for me as i have never quite found the right thing for me as i think its high time i did!

It looks good short but I hate short hair. I love wearing ball caps and I look like a boy if my hair is short. I love long hair but my hair never seems to do what I want it to do when it's longer.

The only time I liked it was when I had it permed, but one of my best friends told me to get out of the 80's and so I straightened it and it's been straight ever since...but I was comfortable in the 80's, the 80's were good to me and so I think I might just have to slip back once again...either that or shave my head! lol

i used to have EXACTLY the same problem and it used to bug the hell out of me!!! i had it long, got it cut short, hated it cos it made my face look fat, grew it got it cut again etc etc vicious circle!

so i got it cut just above my shoulders and had it layered and thinned out alot at the bottom. i also had a side parting and a side fringe and all i do is straighten it for about 5 minutes a day and leave it and it looks great!

i would grow yours a bit before you get this done though...

Search online, talk to your hairstylist, it depends on how far you are willing to go and always, once you find someone with a great knack for knowing you and your hair, always go back. Trims are a must, if you let your hair get too damaged it won't grow. You could get layers, you could part it in the middle, get it where it frames your face, you could also try to put it in a ponytail or half way up instead. try curling it, you could also get it cut different at the ends, instead of straight across. And clam highlights might work too.

I have long, straight, light brown hair. I do like my hair but I am starting to get a little bored with it. I'm 25 years old, a mother of an 11 month old, and work full time, so I don't have time to do real fancy things like curl my hair or style it. I always end up putting it in a ponytail. short hair isntalways easier. i 'cheated' on my stylist and went somewhere else, and ended up with a BAD short cut that didnt work with my hair at all. it took me forever to stytle and smooth it, so depending on your hairs texture, shorter isnt always better.

i know its hard dealing with other things like work,baby,bills but when u get a off day get you a little rest and then maybe you could curl,or its this cool stuff call (WET~N~WAVY) it comes just like that. all you have to do is wash your hair and then wait till your hair is damped and then you could put some on there and then you might want to give yourself a couple of braids to make sure it gets wavy. you can get t at any beauty supply store. it comes in spray bottle,gel bottle,and gel container. good luck!!

I think that it depends on the person and on their natural hair and facial features...like face shape and type, best features, hair color and type, etc...

I have naturally curly hair, but often straighten it and I love that it's versatile and I can do it curly one day and let it dry naturally or straighten it out...

Hair-bands are really "in" right now, so I would suggest getting some of those. Also, since your bangs are longer, think about pinning back just the bangs on the top of your head- it frames your face well and highlights facial features...

Leave it down, and if it gets warm tie it up. If your hair is naturally straight, then keep it that way. High ponytails looks way better than low ponytails, as high as possible. It's played out. If they're long enough, you can turn your bangs into side bangs. You can interchange once in a while, it's all about making your hair easy to manage.

Ive got really annoying hair (but only because i can fnd a style to suit me and one i like)...I remember when i was younger having my hair cut very short and it looked awful, from then, I grew my hair until i was fed up and had it cut very short (similar to my avatar length) - It stayed short for about 3 years and i've now let it grow again - Thinking that I might actually look nice with long hair (plus my husband prefers it).

I had it cut into a bob and the length stops just below my hairline (neck) so still short but i hate it - i makes me look fat in my opinion (maybe this is telling me its not framing my face properly).

Im just really fustrated as im not aginst trying new things but considering how long hair takes to grow (even when you are pregnant lol) i would really appreciate any tips, past experiences or links that might help me decide what is right for me as i have never quite found the right thing for me as i think its high time i did!

It looks good short but I hate short hair. I love wearing ball caps and I look like a boy if my hair is short. I love long hair but my hair never seems to do what I want it to do when it's longer.

The only time I liked it was when I had it permed, but one of my best friends told me to get out of the 80's and so I straightened it and it's been straight ever since...but I was comfortable in the 80's, the 80's were good to me and so I think I might just have to slip back once again...either that or shave my head! lol

i used to have EXACTLY the same problem and it used to bug the hell out of me!!! i had it long, got it cut short, hated it cos it made my face look fat, grew it got it cut again etc etc vicious circle!

so i got it cut just above my shoulders and had it layered and thinned out alot at the bottom. i also had a side parting and a side fringe and all i do is straighten it for about 5 minutes a day and leave it and it looks great!

i would grow yours a bit before you get this done though...

Whole Foods has this in their 'whole body" section. Preferably with the help of a friend or salesperson, dtermine which color is the closest to yours. With your pink tone you can go lighter or darker, but stay within 3 shades of your natural hair color. Funny you should ask because my hair is styled like that now. Pretty much just look at Ebony, Jet, Essence,Upscale, Vibe magazines and you will find it. Or just look up pictures of Delicious from Flavor of Love. That style may be longer than what you want but that is the style. Hope I helped!

I have very wavy hair (although I usually straighten it) and I had my hair cut into long layers. It makes it a lot easier to style your hair, adds more movement and body, and makes it look and feel a lot healthier. I strongly recommend it. Also, ask your stylist to shape the front of your hair as well, it brings the layers to a whole new level. I'm not sure what the bangs look like (I did an image search but did not see any bangs), but if they're side-swept, then I'd say go for it, but it's a little tricky to get used to styling them at first. Good luck. I'm sure your hair will look great. :)

If it takes u a long time to straighten it and u REALLY like. I suggest u buy the best brand the CHI. its amazing. But expensive, so u have to really like how it looks on ur hair.

*if ur curlin it wit a curlin iron, use hairspray too

-hairspray a section of hair that u want to curl

-comb through so the spray spreads evenly

-then start curlin it wit a curlin iron

-hairspray again while its curlin wit the iron nd use ur fingers or a napkin to spread it evenly...

-hold for 10-20 seconds...

-let go of the curlin iron nd hairspray again...

-do this all around

-to get more curls nd a bit loose..run fingers through ur hair

**this takes over night

*if u want somethin over night i sugest pin curls*u can do this on wet or dry hair

-if u want nice even curls, i shud tell u to hav ur hair a bit damp...

-if ur hair id jus dry, jus take an empty spray bottle nd fill wit water.

-spray ur hair till its a bit damp...

-section ur hair.

-start by the bac, take a section nd grab som "garnier fructis soft curl cream"...

-take a dime size nd rub wit ur hands together.

-work the cream to ur sectioned hair

-comb through

-take it nd wrap it around 1 or 2 of ur fingers

-wrap neatly close to ur scalp

-use bobby pins to pin them in place(so then wen ur done, it loks as if theres an invisible roller in ur hair)

-do this all around

-sleep on ur side or face...lol

-next mornin, release the pins nd u can run ur fingers through,

-or jus jump up and down to get it loosein up without damagin the curls much...

-hairspray lightly all around

-u can randomly jus curl peices of hair wit the curlin iron.

-ur hair shud last for 2 days!...lol...mine did...

its easy put curl scrunching gell all over ur hair let it dry then curl it with a 1 inch curling iron leaving 1 inch of the ends free use run ur fingers down ur hair 2 loosen the curls then spray it with hairspray from about 4 inches away. good luck!!

Spray the lock with an extra strength-hold hairspray such as TIGI Catwalk Work-It Hairspray or Frizz-Ease Shape and Shine Flexible Hold Hair Spray . Using a foam curler or hot roller, roll the lock of hair into the curler TIGHTLY from the bottom up. Fasten securely at the scalp, using bobby pins if necessary. Keep curler/rollers in hair for as long as necessary (until they cool, or the curl is holding).

That's definitely a cute cut..but instead of the bangs being rather straight across like in the pic..try layered bangs..where it gradually goes down..or angled bangs..bangs that go straight across wouldnt work with the shape of your face..maybe think about some dark blonde highlights..or even light brown..it'd definitely be cute for ya..good luck..

ya its cute...and heres some ways to change it up!

buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.

then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......

and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.

and as for just regular hairstyles, i would try sidebangs or whispy bangs instead of thick ones......dont know about the cut i might have to see the shape of your face, sry....

you can also do buns, because they are pretty in, or low pigtails, but you might be a little old for them, but my sister in college looks cute in them so i dont know.....

as for hairbands, very cute and in!!! definitely!!!

u could wear your hair half-up, leaving your bangs down.....

My hair is 90% black. The roots are a red'ish brown colour and some other odd colour. I have what I like to call straivy hair. It's not exactly straight, but it's not completely wavy and my hair is pretty thick.

I like the length its at now and have no problem cutting it a little shorter as long as it isn't too short. I've been thinking about getting some bangs but I'm not too sure.

Anyways, what kind of haircut/style do you think would look good on me? Reference pictures/websites would be nice.
