Hair style question?

i went to my hairstlylist the other day and told her i want try a perm next time in. my hair is short on the sides (because of job) but about 3-4 inches long on top what color rods do i go with i want curl on top. is it gonna look ok or am i nuts i really want to try it cuz my hair style has be the same the last 20 yrs any advice is welcomed

depends on the type of curl you're looking for... if you're new to perms, go for looser curls so it's not so drastic the first time... this would be the big purple rods!

after your perm, make sure to follow the "perm golden rules":

- always use moisturizing shampoo and conditioner

- use leave in conditioner if necessary

- NEVER comb/brush hair unless totally wet (or it'll frizz!)

- once dry, use a laminator for shine or if frizzy (can get heavy-duty laminators or lighter serums depending on frizziness)
