Hair styling?

I've got dark brown/black hair, and it's inbetween long and short. at the moment i have a fringe but i try and brush it to the side to give it that kinda 'windswept' look. one of my friends suggested that i should try and use a hair straightener or some other method to try and get that swept-to-the-side look, but i have no idea how to do it. any tips? cheers

using a straightening iron is really easy... i tried using one at first and it was scary lol but you'll get the hang of it! to get the windswept look i would suggest you take the iron and as your straightening the hair pull it up as u get to the end of each piece of hair your straightening.
